The South Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church has provided a spiritual home for students at Winthrop University since 1932. This is a long and important historical ministry, but don't worry - we're not that old!
Adjacent to the campus, Wesley is not just a building, but is a community of faith and support as students and young adults grapple with questions of vocation, identity, faith, and all of the twists, turns, and intricacies of life.
Wesley is a safe space in the midst of the rigors of the academy and the highs and lows of young adulthood as community is formed and life passions are discovered. Students are challenged here, nurtured here, and loved here, in a community that accepts you as you are, a child of God.
This is a community of Christ-followers that:
- Nurtures and strengthens the lives of students through spiritual growth, intentional love, and mutual support;
- Reaches out in service, solidarity and advocacy to the communities which surround WESLEY, including the campus, greater Rock Hill area, the nation, and communities around the world;
- Witnesses to the love of God and neighbor through our lives and relationships as we continue to grow into faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.
